It is NOT okay for any white person to attack a movement that means everything to people of color. I’ve been one of the biggest critics of problems in the Black community and I always will be—but I also have family who lived through the South during those dark days.
Attacking the people who were sprayed with fire hoses, beaten, and killed just for the right to vote in the country they helped build is disgusting. Full stop.
This is exactly why we need real diversity and real conversations. Some folks need to step out of their all-white bubbles, listen, and hear how this lands. This isn’t how you grow the conservative tent. It’s how you shrink it.
