A 6-piece chicken tender order at KFC is now $20. No sides. No drink. Just the tenders. A 16-piece meal? Over $55. A bucket of chicken? Pushing $50+. This is supposed to be fast food. KFC’s largest stock holders are BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street and JPMorgan.

I’m a generous tipper, but remember that restaurant owners need to pay competitive wages and shouldn't rely on customers to cover their employees’ pay. If I saw this sign I would immediately walk out of the restaurant.

Spirit Airlines going bankrupt was probably a net positive. Budget airlines have made the world objectively worse by allowing too many bus people to break containment from their natural territory.

@MensHumor Restaurants know they need to obfuscate. If they raise prices to accommodate fair pay, they lose to other restaurants. So like any other business, they break it down and obfuscate the customers

The truth is…. Spirit Airlines was a garbage airline with bare bones service and rickety planes. The only people who chose to fly Spirit were either super cheap, or too poor to be traveling anyway. Stay home.

If that model scaled, it wouldn’t stay contained. It would become the new baseline. For those north of 6 ft and 180lbs that gets uncomfortable fast. Now the market resets. Frontier Airlines can absorb price-sensitive travelers; they offer everything Spirit Airlines did but with better customer experience. JetBlue benefits most: cost-conscious and brand-experience driven. That’s the middle that wins long term. Consumers won’t miss Spirit. They’ll benefit from what replaces it. That’s the free market working as it should? What’s the problem again?

Spirit was bound to fail. Budget airline known for hidden fees. When you add up all the hidden charges, you might as well purchase a ticket on a non-budget airline. Also, factor in the plethora of fights at the gates and just a general classless feel to the whole experience…

I’ve flown Spirit before. Planes took off, they landed, tickets were cheaper. Doesn’t feel like something to dunk on.
