@TheEconomist An upswell of respect vs a lack of respect for Biden and Harris who they viewed as jokers and career politicians on the dole and where the Biden family took monies from the CCP and their affiliates
A belief in American decline has been a consistent fixture of Chinese discourse for nearly two decades. But since Donald Trump’s return to power there has been an upswell economist.com/china/2026/05/…
@RickHannah14282@FareedZakaria Hyperbole is effective. You can’t have millions of migrants storm across the border and not expect that a certain percent will be bad actors. Democrats encouraged this mass migration to provide cheap labor for their donors and to swell state populations and eventual voter rolls.
The Iran war has triggered one of the biggest supply shocks in the oil market’s history.
Why, then, does Wall Street appear so unfazed?
I asked former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, who has an excellent new memoir out called “Streetwise”:
@TheEconomist Germany’s military has been subsidized by the US taxpayer. There was a reason post WWII, but 80yrs later there is no reason. They’re capable of funding their military and have the tradition of Bismarck to be tough when needed for defense versus for bad under National Socialism.
Germany now faces a partial withdrawal of American troops that risks undermining Europe’s deterrence towards Russia. Register for free to read the full story econ.st/499VacS

@BloombergTV@RepAdamSmith@JMathieuReports So the representative feels that we should’ve waited until they did possess a nuclear weapon like North Korea. We kept telling them not to do it and they eventually did it like Joe Biden when he said don’t don’t don’t and everyone did it you guys are completely preposterous.
Washington @RepAdamSmith criticizes the Trump administration's Iran strategy, saying the threat of a nuclear weapon was "not imminent" before the Iran War campaign began. He speaks with @jmathieureports from the Milken Institute Global Conference in Beverly Hills bloom.bg/4w5nreJ
@dem2rep2021@FareedZakaria The difference is who they were deporting. Trump’s way is the shotgun approach, affecting many innocents. Criminals, yes. Law abiding citizens, no.
@BloombergTV How does Ian Bremmer know with the capability of an AH 64 Apache and an A-10 attack fighter to eliminate the Iranian fast boats and drones he has absolutely no knowledge of what Dan Caine and Bradley Cooper’s capabilities are and is not privy to the strategic planning
Eurasia Group's Ian Bremmer says President Donald Trump doesn't have the ability to reopen the Strait of Hormuz right now. But he does say Iran is desperate.

Alberta, the major oil-producing province of Canada, is one step closer to a referendum on secession after leaders of a separatist group said they’ve reached the number of signatures needed to hold a vote. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
@ianbremmer Update two US flag vessels exited the straight of four moves under escort. This is documented what you’re saying is untrue and tomorrow it will be further opened. Wait and see.
@OunkaOnX@tomkeene No one believed it would be Venezuela, but 80% Iranians are against the evil IRGC regime and rose up against them looking for help. Additionally,if had a nuclear warhead like N Korea, they would use it against Israel and cause a second holocaust. What would you do Tom?
David Ignatius: Presidents avoided war with Iran for 47 years. Iran is big, wily, smart. No easy exits. Trump blew through his briefings. Thought Iran would be like Venezuela - show up, capitulate, done.
Now he's stuck. No one's rushing to help. And he's learning about unanticipated consequences the hard way
The 'greatest negotiator' walked into a trap.
@ianbremmer@gzeromedia You’re lying there were two escorts that made through it today under American flags and that will only expand after the first 24 hours
@business Upset the US isn’t subsidizing them anymore, so they’re unhappy. It must be a relationship of adults, not adults & children a similar relationship we have with Ukraine that is working for them. France & Germany that brought Napoleon & Bismarck can certainly defend themselves.
