@rsgnl I also went from the 11 Pro to the 14 Pro and I couldn’t agree more. In some ways it’s a step backwards as it’s less comfortable to hold and harder to use with one hand

Upgrading from my iPhone 11 Pro to the iPhone 14 Pro was nice, but my three-month review would be like "kinda does the same thing mostly." I have no regrets going a whole three years between upgrades. Realistically, that's how long most people wait!

@jack The web is a user-hostile environment. Native apps provide a better user experience than web apps. I think a more sensible solution is to more tightly regulate the duopoly of app stores we currently have.

We need a new mobile OS that’s web-only.

If the reports of Apple expressing interest in buying Manchester United are true, I look forward to seeing what the acquisition means for Ted Lasso.

@SamiFathi_ I wouldn’t say it’s that simple. When companies’ products or services become too large and are woven into the fabric of society, some regulation is needed. This is precisely why suppliers of energy are regulated — everybody relies on it.

Real developers spend 8 hours automating a 2-minute task that they have to do once every 6 months.

@appltrack @theinformation If true, the marketing team needs to come up with a really good name for the search engine. The name needs to be something that can be used as a verb. A boring name like ‘Apple Search’ won’t do them any favours.

Apple is working on a search engine that will one day replace Google 👀 🔍 But it won’t be ready until at least 2026…

@imyke @jsnell When Apple sells an iPhone 14 for for $799, they receive $799. When they sell one for £849, they receive £707.50 as the 20% VAT is included in the retail price. At current exchange rates, £707.50 = $811. UK customers aren’t overcharged by Apple, they’re overtaxed.

It appears Twitter is asking dozens of folks they laid off, to return. Some folks were laid off by mistake. For others, Twitter now realizes the laid off individuals hold knowledge that is crucial for Twitter’s path forward. reuters.com/technology/twi…
