A friend of mine is running a D&D campaign with his theater group. Which of course means Minis! Photopolymer UV printing is a messy process, but the end result is well worth it. Also it's really REALLY fun ^-^

That really was one impressive flammagenitus pyrocumulus cloud from the 'controlled' burn off south of Ōtepoti this morning. As seen from our house on Otago Peninsula 29.32 kms away, & karetai track. #Dunedin #NZ

Yep. Walkers and bikers spend more money than cars at local business.

It’s REALLY important that #Vancouver’s Downtown Business Association, who were originally AGAINST downtown bike-lanes, later became one of their most vigourous supporters, because of EVIDENCE that bike-lanes are better for downtown business than any street parking they replace.

One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen was filled with cars until a 2 year pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.

Every city has gaps in its street life, “missing teeth” in the urban “smile” that a city shares with citizens and visitors each day. Those holes are actually easy to fill, if we have the vision, culture and will to do it. Examples from Helsinki’s waterfront & Brisbane’s downtown.

Remember this picture every single time you hear someone in your city say "we're not Amsterdam." This was #Amsterdam in the 1970's via @fietsprofessor. The cities we admire made better choices regarding cars, and are still making them today. Better choices instead of excuses.
