She now uses a walking stick to get there, but as long as it’s a sunny day, 100-year-old Evadnie McBean makes her way to her backyard garden to tend her tomatoes, beans, pok choi, cho cho, and rosemary. 51 days. Still no report. Still no answers. Peter Bunting MP warned on CVM TV last night that the delay sets a dangerous precedent. Minor reports on low-level officials move fast. Reports that touch “big fish” and could embarrass the government get stalled. His concern: if anyone can file a court claim to block tabling, Parliament and the public are locked out. And with the Attorney General often defending these cases, the government ends up arguing against itself - with zero incentive to move quickly. “This is a scheme to frustrate the Integrity Commission and hide what the public deserves to know.”If the law can be delayed at will, what’s left of oversight? #PNPJamaica #IntegrityCommission #CVM #JamaicaPolitics
