If AI gets so good that it replaces nearly all human jobs, who are the AI doing the jobs for? Without customers, there’s no need for these jobs AI is taking. It’s a catch 22 no? This has always confused me when it comes to AI concerns.

@3DPrintGeneral There are two visions where it goes right that people are chasing, one is the people that lose jobs get better jobs and pay, or AI somehow makes everything so cheap there's no need to charge anymore. Both are delusional.

Most companies make money by selling to the masses (or by selling to other companies that sell to the masses). If the masses don’t have jobs, then these companies wouldn’t have consumers to sell to, making the AI no longer needed.

@AranTheLichKing You have to pay to use most of those paintings that are in museums unless they expressly give permission and make it available, they are not public domain.

The weirdest, most annoying part in this that I cannot comprehend is that it's genAI ugly crappy mess copying old paintings. Paintings that are considered goods of all humankind, thus being freely available, even for commercial purposes. Like... Just use the actual paintings???

Nothing like doing accounting at the start of the month to put some despair in your soul.

@KupoGames Google removed that so you got served more ads when you had to repeat the search multiple times, they admitted to doing that intentionally.

When I was a young lad, search bars would only return exact matches if you put search terms in quotes, like "Matt's Cats". Every platform now gives me unrelated results when I do this. Kids don't know how much better the internet used to be.
