@xpmike @SolickSeeds Have heard and seen an old article on it. We slow down to apply more nh3 on the colonies. Not a 100% solution but it helps

@derekdery @SolickSeeds There use to be a thing called the gophanator that was a tank filled with NH3 that road on the back of a quad. Had a hose you stuck down the hole.

Here's a couple pic's of some nasty gopher damage on a couple fields just north of us.. probably could share pics of another 100+ fields in the area.. These little pricks are starting to get bad and costing some serious $$$$. Can't imagine how bad it will be in 5 years from now.... We need strychnine back asap! crickets from the Gov't. Which is no surprise. They give zero fucks about us...

@xpmike They help, but the numbers we are dealing with are pretty high. We have foxes. I have some near my place (can't keep a cat for the life of me). And the pasture and crop on the neighbours is smashed to shit too.

@CarldeConinck Nice! We have used a direct injection system the last three years. Works okay but another trailer set up like this would be good

Just about finished the Liberty Hot Tank setup, hopefully speed up filling. The old dot trailer came in handy on this one!!!

Seeding Season had another layer of activity this year. Purple Pancakes and Pizza Mix heading to @CoopFCL just in time for summer weekends at the lake!

@MoneoDallas 135 ac/ft. 60’ drill 1000 bu cart. 6 different crops to spread sprayer and harvest capacity. 30 days to seed 16-18 hr days and 24 hr on certain field/crops. We probably have the most challenging fields for mobalization in SK though

Annual poll! How many acres per ft of drill are you running? Labor Power Machinary sits nice at 100ac or more. Anything under that and I believe we are under utilized in our area. We have pushed it to 160ac a foot, but that isn't fun.

@EdWhiteMarkets Lower price equilibrium for canola agronomic reasons.

@derekdery Did market risk affect that? Or was it just agronomic?

Any of you reduce canola acres this year? If so, why?

@derekdery Obviously depends on a lot of factors but in vicinity of Saskatoon I’d say we are in the realm of field capacity in most soils - so 3-6 inches of plant available water in the root zone but there going to be a lot of variability with all of the local scale runoff.

Things are filling and spilling! Most runoff I’ve seen in a couple years but no records being set. Key context is that in this area I’d estimate we had ~5 inches of snow water equivalent (most I’ve measured) this runoff is only a small fraction of that #infiltration #melt #water
