@W74_Alex @TheGameVerse As long as you had fun and enjoyed your time - you did everything right. Think its totally OK not to play a game you do not or even lesser enjoy. But i'm curious: did you miss a gwentlike subgame in C2077?
English

@derichens @TheGameVerse I prefer SciFi,
It’s not that I didn’t like tw3 but after completing I bought the 2 dlc’s and still havent been able to get back in and play them Whereas I finished Cuberpunk and its expansion multiple times over all endings and different builds.
English

@marcusi8823 @TheGameVerse Honestly?! Kind of tradition on CDPR releases. But they got their stuff together everytime afterwards.
English

@TheGameVerse The first 3-4 months of the witch 3 was a bloody mess. Game breaking bugs left and right. But after a couple months of patching it became the amazing game we all like.
English

@PapaJim1977 @TheGameVerse There will be a good reason to correct that mistake next year.
English

@TheGameVerse I've not actually played it yet. So, that would be it.
English

@ThisisRazinShah @TheGameVerse That felt indeed kind of "we need to put mostly useless treasures here because of...having treasures here".
English

@TheGameVerse The only correct answer is collecting the skellige question markers on the map
English

@its_eniebomedov @TheGameVerse Hot take to critize having a main quest with dialogues in an RPG. I could agree if you would say this about...Space Marine. But I do agree that the antagonists got better with each DLC. Hope they keep that tradition with the next one.
English

@TheGameVerse Awful pacing and antagonists.
I don't want to look for X who knows where Y is who knows where Z is that may or may not have seen Ciri.
The Wild Hunt are completely forgettable next to Gaunter or Detlaff.
English

@W74_Alex @TheGameVerse True. And still TW3 outrages sooo many games. Its difficult for me to compare it fair with C2077, because I prefer High Fantasy to SciFi. But I hat a very good time with Johnny Silverhand too.
English

@WitcherStuff One of my biggest criticism on TW3. He was never my first choice, compared to Vernon, but Iorveths absence is a serious lack.
English

@MofNovigrad Yes. Replayed it last year. Lets say it got its own charme. Still good cineastic moments, despite the aged graphics. But some parts aged not that well. I'm not sure to recommend it without nostalgia.
English

@derichens Have you played Witcher 1? Wondering if that's worth it too
English

@MofNovigrad Absolutely. At least twice. For testing the combat system you can try the arena-mode.
English

@derichens As a major fan of the Witcher, I should really play the second game shouldn't I?

@Miia44685667 @The_Lord_Otter You must have a good memory. Sadly I never experienced Skyrim so I can't compare. But I got your point. Now I am curious about your TW3 experience.
English

@derichens @The_Lord_Otter I can remember every quest in Skyrim. Doesn’t mean that magically makes them good. 🤷

So to put a finer point on why I think the Witcher 3 is overrated, since many accounts are simply saying this post is ragebait and calling it a day.
The writing of Witcher 3 I don't think is overrated. Perhaps a little on the slow side, and Yennefer is just about my least favorite part of the story, but it's still more than good.
Where the game kinda falls apart for me is in quest design and choice, or rather the lack of choice the game really gives you. Many decisions in the main quest (Bloody Baron, for example) kinda wind back to the same outcome, albeit through a couple changed scenes. The big exception is with the endings, in which I'll give proper kudos.
Now for my spiciest take: Geralt doesn't control very well, especially on horseback or in combat. You don't so much move Geralt as you do point him in one direction and hope for the best that he runs or dodge rolls at the right time.
The game is far from bad, but along with Skyrim, it started the trend of every series going open world.

Is it too late to say that Witcher 3 is and has always been sorely overrated?
English

@jeffskywalker91 @Bir3xdFly Thats such a wise and reflected statement. We live in such great times to decide whether we stray medieval, scifi or wildwest. And everyone has the freedom to adore the one or the other. And thats totally OK to share or deny a hype. At last we are all gamers.
English

@derichens @Bir3xdFly I haven’t played Witcher 3 (yet) so I won’t comment on it, but sometimes people just don’t connect with games that are broadly loved. I never could get into Red Dead Redemption 2, but I can see why people like it. It’s just not for me

Something might be afoot down at the Port...see what we did there? 👀

@Tomi_Tapio @The_Lord_Otter I completed the game first with the swamp ending. And felt disappointed. So I completed it a second time with Yen in Corvo Bianco. And I tried the GOTY with English voices (and Triss). But the fightsystem was never the reason for a replay.
English

@derichens @The_Lord_Otter Did you play 190-209 hours of Witcher 3? (two full playthroughs)
