Hey Jay
Hey Jay@JJeffrey100·
To make them at a living wage for people (instead of min wage for high school kids), prices go up. How long does it take you to grill a burger? Let's call it 5 mins (it's longer). So someone makes 12 burgers an hour and they get paid $20 + employment taxes = ~$25/hr. So, $2 of cost per burger is because we decided to pay fast food workers a living wage instead of actual market rates. That means prices go up. That's socialism and why it's a broken system. Companies won't exist if they can't make profit. That means higher wages pass along to the customers who demanded them. (it's more complex than this, but that's the simple logic. supply chain issues and others caused this too)

McDonald’s used to have 29 cent hamburger and 39 cent cheeseburger days every week Now look at their menu prices A hamburger is $4.49 A McDouble is $5.79 .29 cents in 2000 is only .55 cents adjusted for inflation in 2026 The price increase isn’t inflation. It’s greed

@meet_circe @ElegantA6 Part of the reason is the search function on Bluesky is horrible. It’s hard to find people over there. Maybe it’s user error, but that’s my main complaint of Bluesky.

Let me say this as gently as possible: clients who truly respect sex workers should be encouraging us to leave this platform and move to Bluesky. This space is not safe for us (just look at how people are using Grok☠️) yet we are still here because clients are reluctant to move..

The Chiefs are getting $1.8 BILLION in public funded money for their new stadium… and people are PISSED ABOUT IT. The state of Kansas is giving away 60% of the stadiums full cost to a billionaire family… that will only make them significantly more rich. Are

@lcd_dont_Lie2Me @PressSec Sounds like you answered your own question, Speedway has little, if any, competition in your area. Next time you fill up, ask them where they source their gas. My bet is it’s west Texas. No reason for $3.25 gas in your area.

We’re at $3.25 for almost 6 months and only like 29 miles from the interstate. One other thing I notice too though, every single gas station around is a speedway, like it’s creepy how little variety there is. We have one circle k outside of town and ALL the rest are speedways. Absolute monopoly, and I wonder if that plays a role. But what I want to know most is who makes the decision to buy gas from which area? Is that a governor decision?

@lcd_dont_Lie2Me @PressSec Then you’re getting your gas from west Texas. What price are you paying? I know in Tucson and Flagstaff the price is under $3.00 right now.

@lcd_dont_Lie2Me @PressSec According to ChatGPT maricopa county is a federal ozone refinement area so it requires a cleaner burning fuel that only California refineries produce. The Arizona legislature passed the law requiring the cleaner burning gasoline for Maricopa county.

@desertdave62 @PressSec That’s my point, who the hell is in charge of making these decisions? Why aren’t we buying from different refineries? If Utah and NM can figure it out I think we can too. But honestly, who makes those decisions? Is it the governor? I really don’t know but want to find out

@lcd_dont_Lie2Me @PressSec Because we get our gas from Southern California refineries. Casa Grande south get their gas piped in from West Texas refineries. That’s why Maricopa County gas is so high. To make matters worse, they just shut down another SoCal refinery permanently.

ok what in the hell is keeping AZ from getting a better price? I keep watching this line move ever west-word around us but not actually change here. WHY? It can't be solely a state issue, or a producer issue because we would have to be getting gas from a different producer than literally everyone around us. California makes sense because they do a lot of state level taxes, but since we don't.....why is the supply coming to us so much more expensive still?

@ianmiles $100M sounds huge, but when you factor taxes, agent fees, injuries, short careers, and no guaranteed longevity… yeah, most NFL players aren’t setting up dynasties. The window is tiny.

@WallStreetApes Explain to me how all these major pharmacy corps are losing money (the same ones that gobbled up all the regional drugstores) after getting the Cvoid money? If they fail, the remaining independents won’t be able to keep up with demand.
