@roach If I order ahead I skip waiting for a few cars to figure out what they want and make sure the computer understands that tomatoes are to be left off. It’s a subtle hedge but worth it. When I’m on the Vespa I just say my name without removing my helmet or having to listen.

@roach I vote to remove it for the same reason I used radio edits in playlists for company events. I’m not offended by it at all. I would hate for someone else to not feel comfortable and stay sitting with that silently because they’re not comfortable bringing it up.

@44 What motorcycle will you pair it with? That matters the most.

@mal_entropy @pura I wouldn’t mess with an IOT fridge. That’s just silly ;)

@desl @pura i bet by adjusting power settings to the heating element you could get "burnt wire casing" (the most terrifying scent for computer enthusiasts everywhere). hopefully, it isn't hacking your fridge at the same time, though.

@roach If you’re removing a catalyst I would be ternally grateful… those look so shiny compared to what’s in mine.

@elizlennon @JefrsonStarChip One time there was some serious stuff and we needed help but the “cage phone” couldn’t dial I pulse-dialed help like a badass hacker. In the earlier days you knew how everything worked because you were the one building it. When you build the gate you know how to bypass it.

@elizlennon @JefrsonStarChip To protect my professional reputation I should assert that I never went into a space I was not authorized to be in. Many times the normal means of access were unavailable. Also a couple decades ago things were a bit more lax.

Introduced them to it yesterday and the kids keep asking to play Surfing Bird by The Trashmen. My work here is done. #birdIsTheWord

@msilver This is a very kid specific perspective but the frequency of somebody being asleep on one arm while I’m trying to phone is significant.

@msilver Yes exactly. On my iPhone XS I can get to the bottom half of the screen when holding with one hand. Browsing was always a pain when you want to search or enter a url.

@msilver I 100% agree with you on the address bar belonging at the top… and also can’t reach it when I hold my device in one hand. Maybe this is the advantage?

@roach 5 years of therapy is how I’m not breaking down right now. Is there anything about therapy that you’d like to know more about or talk about my choice to go, stop, go back etc?
