Personal update: I've joined Anthropic. I think the next few years at the frontier of LLMs will be especially formative. I am very excited to join the team here and get back to R&D. I remain deeply passionate about education and plan to resume my work on it in time.

@S_N_SH_E_ Well yes, but I genuinely have no solution for people who don't understand fundamentals and rely on AI for bigger bets.
So, basically I neglect that those people exist, they will always look for shortcuts in life and worry why things aren't working

it’s already way beyond assignments now
students are using AI for entire projects, coding, debugging, reports basically everything and a lot of them barely understand what the output is doing
I genuinely see people around me building things without understanding fundamentals at all which is honestly a bit scary long term . people who genuinely enjoy building will still build regardless of whether AI makes it easier or not.
