@butchworley Not a fan of how ESPN has presented or marketed the game since they got it back. Carolina has both the play style and personality that a network should be pushing.

Look, I get it, you used to be able to go to a mall in Hartford and watch your favorite NHL teams play and then they moved the franchise to Raleigh. But you would think by now the ESPN folks would be over it. It's not about anyone picking against them, it's the fact they have shit on them since they moved when they should be loving a small market team who plays their asses off every night and plays aggressive hockey all over the ice. (Outside of the dark years between Lavy leaving and RBA being promoted to head coach) 😏

@HockeyWithDevin Yep, was frustrated when they passed on him. Worried we got a 3C at best instead. The unwillingness to swing on skill is a problem.

@RyanHanaWWP 4 of those margin points were after they were eliminated, too. Just shows how badly they blew this to only just miss out. I’m hopeful that this was glaring enough to management to push them towards significant change.

In Detroit's final 20 games of the season, 8 of them were vs. non-playoff teams (CBJ was the best of them, no others was close). They went 2-5-1 (0.313 pts %), dropping 11 points to lottery teams (incl. 0-3-0 vs. 25th place FLA in that span). Missed playoffs by 8 points. #LGRW

Copp had a nice season. But I always joked he had negative finishing skill. Turns out I was right lol #LGRW

@OhNyquist He’s just not a top-4 D, but I’d be surprised if they don’t run it back with him and Faulk. The D group is all signed, and they have a ton of work to do overhauling the forwards.

The Chiarot - Faulk experiment hasn’t been good. Absolutely cannot be the 2nd pair next season

@Brock_Seguin There are just too many roster issues for me to feel McClellan should take the blame. They never addressed the top line wing or 2nd line C. The bottom 6 brings almost nothing. Chiarot is a 5/6 in a 3/4 spot, and spending a 1st+ on Faulk was a contender move, not a builder.

They deserve every single one. Unbelievable collapse. I like McLellan, but he has to go. It's a flawed roster, sure. But they have enough talent to not be one of the worst 5v5 teams in the league. He didn't get the most out of them. Gibson kept them afloat all year.

We desperately need someone to develop enough to be the 2C or trade for one and we all know what the price for that will be. 1C Larkin 2/3C Kasper 2/3 C Danielson 3/4 C Finnie 3/4 C Copp Development is an option for Kasper, Danielson and Finnie. #LGRW

The whole bottom-six needs to be revamped at this point. - Perron: 0 points since DET acquired him - Rasmussen: 0 points since Jan 5 - Appleton: 1 point in 2026 - Kasper: 2 points in last 10 games - JvR: 29 points on season - Compher: 24 points Every aspect of it is a mess.

@wingingitmotown They badly need 3 new forwards in the top 9 and another top 4 defenseman in the offseason. They only have 3-4 top 6 forwards depending on how you view Kane. Copp/Chiarot/Compher/Ras cannot play key roles on a playoff team.

If they fall behind 3-0, they're done. Like done, done. Can't make the playoffs if you aren't playing playoff hockey in late-March 🤷
