Injective working with Microsoft on a developer program is a strong signal But honestly, the name 'Microsoft' is not the real thing to watch here The real thing is whether this turns into developer density Crypto has gotten very good at announcing partnerships. > big logo > clean graphic > nice headline Everyone says huge, then 3 months later, nobody can point to the builders, apps, users, or new demand that came from it. That is the line here. If @injective and @Microsoft Nova bring serious developers into the ecosystem, especially across Asia, then this actually matters. More builders means more experiments, and more experiments mean more chances for apps that create real usage. But if it becomes another brand-name headline with no clear builder path, then it is just narrative foam The principle is simple: Ecosystems do not compound because they announce well, but rather because builders can enter, build, ship, and stay. That is what I’m watching with Injective now.

90% of Web3 brands fail at messaging. And as a result, they lose market share to teams with weaker products but clearer positioning. in most markets, the best product doesn’t win. the clearest one does. even as a me-too brand, you still have a real chance to capture meaningful market share if your messaging is precise and your positioning is clear. and if you’ve already created a blue ocean and sit at the top of your category, this becomes even more important, because clarity is what keeps you top of mind early, before competitors start copying the surface. i’ve been talking about ICP discipline for some time now. but the real question founders should be asking is: what comes after you identify your ICP? once you know: > who you’re building for > who you’re explicitly not building for > and which secondary audiences come later that’s when messaging becomes decisive. positioning, in practical terms, is the space you occupy in the mind of your ideal customer as their best solution. and to earn that space, your messaging must be framed specifically for them. that includes: > your X bio > your website and landing pages > and every piece of content you publish when you write for a specific person(your ICP), detail is not a weakness. the right reader will read every word. they’ll watch the full video. they’ll stay because it resonates. good messaging doesn’t list features but rather mirrors pain. you hook them with this, articulate the pain they already feel, intensify it, and then you show why your product matters: > how it makes their life easier, > how it reduces friction, > or how it helps them grow capital. that’s how positioning is formed. and that’s how power users are created – the ones who stay even when the next shiny protocol launches, claiming to be better. generic messaging creates disposable users, while specific messaging creates conviction. platitudes don’t work anymore. - "Fastest L1." - "Lowest gas fees." - "Most scalable." these claims don’t differentiate. rather, they signal looseness and invite scepticism. as claude hopkins showed, a vague claim can be dismissed while a specific claim must be evaluated. that’s why the schlitz beer case worked. and the same pattern appears in a lesser-known shaving soap case claude hopkins documented. they didn’t just say "pure beer" or "better lather." they explained why purity mattered, why lather mattered, and what it did for the customer. that specificity filtered the audience. it removed the anti-ICP. and it attracted buyers who were willing to pay more because the product aligned with their beliefs and priorities. in crypto, many founders hear this and still ignore it. they chase short-term numbers. they want the TGE. > no structure. > no belief. > no community. then they’re surprised when users leave at the first sign of volatility. growth doesn’t fail because of a lack of spend. it fails because it’s forced on top of weak alignment. growth is an emergent property of structure, clarity, and belief. not something you brute-force with money. if you’re a founder running a me-too brand, or you know your messaging is built on platitudes, the issue isn’t distribution. it’s positioning. this is the layer I work in, helping early web3 teams replace generic messaging with clarity that earns attention, conviction, and long-term users before growth ever begins.

Highlights of my dayyy. Didn't do much. Just attended one morning class, went to see a lecturer [after weeks of looking for him, I finally met him in his office.] Went over to my friends place and drew this. Spent most of the day offline today. Started working on an article for a bounty which ends in roughly 10 days time. How did your day go?

If people always agree with everything you say, your ideas might not be sharp enough. The power of a contrarian belief is still underrated in marketing per se. One thing i would like to add about this is that when coming up with a contrarain narrative, it should be based on your worldview and not you just disagreeing for attention The tension makes your message memorable 💙

Leon Abboud
Leon Abboud@leonabboud·
The simplest way to differentiate your product is to have a worldview that is different than your peers in the marketplace. A couple years ago, I noticed that there was a big flaw in marketing where brands outsourced their distribution to influencers. What happened to them is that they never built an owned audience, and were stuck renting it from others. The moment the cycle of paid marketing stopped, so did the distribution. The consensus back then was that this was the only way to market. But I saw it as deeply flawed, and instead introduced the concept of Founder Funnel, where attention gets retained not rented. This contrarian belief was the catalyst that allowed me to stand out in a competitive industry. Whatever you're trying to build, be it AI agent infra, neobanks, fintechs, DEXs, SaaS tools... the most important element you need in your brand positioning is your contrarian angle.
