Was just in Sacramento for Cal State LA and their lobby days with lawmakers. While ASU is my alma mater… Cal State LA is close to my heart in that the coordinator of Wednesdays Child (my segment on Fox 11 on foster care and adoption) is a professor there. @CalStateLA And grateful and humbled to have received an honorary doctorate degree from Cal State LA.

OK, next generation I am so inspired! Fabulous visit back to Phoenix Arizona and Arizona State University. The Cronkite school has grown to be a world class journalism and mass communications school. Attended the scholarship luncheon!#GoDevils #ForksUp #ASU #SunDevil

On this Oscar Sunday, most grateful to have celebrated actress Léa Garcia from Brazil at Carnival in February. My father’s late sister was in the 1960 Oscar winning Best International Film, Black Orpheus. (just met my father two years ago, so learning all about family! Yes, riding on a float was a blast!)

They are bringing the funky to events in SoCal. Meet the Soul Train Dancers from the famous Soul Train syndicated show launched in 1971. My story today for Black Heritage Month. On the 5 PM news on Fox 11, and the 8 PM news on channel 13.
