The Eye of Horus
• I’ve been reading the ancient Pyramid Texts for a while now, and I’m impressed by the depth and multi-layered philosophy within them. If we had truly understood them, we might have restored our broken roots.
• According to these texts, a human being is plural: body + ka + ba, and its ultimate purpose is to become the akh.
Body: the physical vessel
Ka: the life force
Ba: the individual soul/personality
Akh: the successful recombination and transfiguration
• If the ba cannot reunite with the ka, it continues to exist but is “no longer alive,” a “dead” state.
• The Eye of Horus symbolizes total pattern recognition: seeing the order of the cosmos as a whole, all at once.
• If these texts are humanity’s collective memory, what have we collectively forgotten?

@devinxad It’s amazing. Now so much human knowledge is digitized & available in vast datasets for AI to query, correlate & analyze, we can accelerate discoveries. If AI can analyze & improve its own capabilities, it could lead to rapid & exponential increase almost beyond our imagination.

Considering the trajectory of technological development, it is remarkable that so much progress has been concentrated within the past six millennia. We are at the outset of an era marked by the growing integration of material space and cyberspace. Provided that civilization avoids apocalyptic outcomes, this transformation may reach far beyond what we can currently imagine.

@devinxad We’ve learned we’re far more complex than the ancient Egyptians imagined. Instead of seeing the body/khat as a single vessel we now know it’s an ecosystem of trillions of cells working together.
Like music from an orchestra, consciousness and life is made possible by many parts.
