Got chatting to an American lady on the street earlier. She told me she was from Chicago and, for some reason, she assumed I was from New York. I didn’t realise New York and Dungannon accents were so similar.

I am not afraid to admit that David Attenborough looks better at 100 than I do at 60. I blame the Guinness.

I was advised by a fellow OAP at the tube station this morning that the barriers can open a minute or two before 9am - the normal opening time for the OAP pass. Sure enough, we were both able to enter at 8.58am, which we did, grinning and bidding each other a pleasant day.

@devlin_jp Presenter is a bit intense! Piece on Crouch End wasn't as interesting as the others, but decent enough piece of telly.

I’m beginning to enjoy the nods of acknowledgement from other oldies outside the tube station of a morning as we await the clock striking 9 so we can glide through the barriers with our OAP passes and a smile on our faces.

A recent birthday present from my sister. I think it really suits me.

Today I have bumped into two former BBC colleagues at the British Library. I know of others who come here. Is this what happens when one leaves the BBC and is missing the comfort of an institution?
