Schwiegereltern kommen für ein paar Tage zu Besuch. Er möchte neue Hochbete bauen. Sie möchte dann mal ordentlich putzen. Ich wollte das nicht, weil ich über Ostern 🐣 entspannen möchte. Bei meinten: hau dich auf die Couch 🛋️. Sollte ich das Angebot wirklich annehmen?

@Inkvine I can still remember opening that box on a birthday long long time ago. Not 100% sure but Mario was probably my first game.

The skills to say "No, won't do that" and "No, sorry I do not know" are hard to learn but crucial. People appreciate hearing that more than you might think.

Yesterday I participated in a #b2run for the #microsoft running team. A great event with 11.900 participants. Had the chance to meet some colleagues I usually do not meet during my day. It took me 30minutes and 20 seconds to finish the 5.4km track. Pretty happy with the result.

Day 123 @ Microsoft: Did my usual Friday 'what happened this week' internal post. Wrote a bit about my learnings with cilium and hubble. Will probably do a little 15min demo about what I have learned to save others some time.

Day 138 @ Microsoft: Had a good session with a colleague from the UK investigating an issue with terraform and a newly create subscription. Enjoyed diving into the actual code for the azurerm terraform provider.

Day 134 - 137 @ Microsoft: These days were focused on learning about my new customers core business, strategies and roadmaps. Sounds a bit boring? It is, but it is needed information to drive good IT decisions and helping our customers to be successful.

Day 133 @ Microsoft: A _lot_ of sync calls. 30min call, 30min break. I thought this was a good idea but let me tell you - you get nothing done and feel exhausted. The breaks are too short for sorting notes and having an actual break.

Day 132 @ Microsoft: Engaged with the azure-doc's repo today. Reported two issues and had two very tiny pull requests (PR). Got feedback in hours and PR's got merged. This was a very good contributor experience.

Day 131 @ Microsoft: A lot more calls with colleagues about the customers I am supporting this fiscal year. It is fun to meet so many cool people. Looking forward to working with them. So far the amount of work right now is looking manageable.

Day 130 @ Microsoft: having the first calls with colleagues to get a good understanding of the customers I will be supporting. Taking a lot of notes. Too much important information I would forget otherwise.

Day 128 + 129 @ Microsoft: still investing time to learn about our new strategy. My team is about 40 people large, with others around my customers I would like to keep up with about 70 people. I am adapting jakobgreenfeld.com/stay-in-touch to work with #dendron and a cron job.

Day 127 @ Microsoft: Spend a lot of time in meetings about our company strategy and how to approach the next fiscal year. It is still tough to see the whole picture and distinguish the important from the unimportant information.

Day 126 @ Microsoft: The day was pretty calm and I had some time to catch up with people. Rounded the day up with a live concert - Iron Maiden. Weather was perfect, people were awesome, music loud and heavy.

@breakawaybilly Ha, now the pressure is on. Let me see if I can do a little write up.

Day 125 @ Microsoft: With the current heat in Europe it was pretty tough for me to do concentrated work. Luckily our two hour terraform workshop was done in the morning. Pretty good outcome with a happy customer who is progressing nicely with their landing zone.

Day 124 @ Microsoft: It is the first week that I actually work from some where else, not just form home. So far this is fun and giving me a lot of flexibility. Fitting in sport and friends is more challenging than I thought.

Day 122 @ Microsoft: Reminder to myself - when building a proof of concept for a customer remove everything that is not need anymore. Everything will be assumed to be there on purpose and might lead to follow up questions.
