So happy for J&K! What a moment for them. Congratulations on clinching their maiden #RanjiTrophy. History has been written today! 🏆 Dominating Karnataka with grit, heart, and unbreakable spirit. Very happy for #ParasDogra, a legend of first class cricket finally getting his due. #AuqibNabi has bulldozed teams and been the main reason for this rise. Hats off to the entire squad and training staff for their belief. J&K cricket has arrived! @BCCIdomestic @BCCI

Frame ah paarunga saar 😁 #KHxRK is any kollywood film buff's dream combo. Excited to see what the storyline would be. I really hope it is not an all-out action film but given that it is Nelson sir who is steering it, definitely wouldn't be so. Some great comedy and drama in store🤞

As an actor, the excitement never changes, OTT or theatrical. All we want is for more people to see the work and feel something. #Parasakthi is now streaming on Zee5 and I’m just as excited as a theatrical release to hear what you think. Watch it and Tell me. 😊🔥

@Elavara09651519 @trackerdmk The issue for me was never about criticism or reviewers. Criticism and targeted negativity are 2 different things. Anyways, film is with the audience and they ll decide what it deserves. Let's move on.

@DevRamnath @trackerdmk Ultimately, films succeed based on content. When audience satisfaction is 90%, reviews don’t hurt the film. If the film is 60% it will be affected. The real issue is the system, not criticism itself.

Just because #VaaVaathiyaar releasing alongside #Parasakthi doesn’t give you the right to sabotage VaaVathiyar. Rating it 1/10 on BMS using SK PR and the #DMK IT wing is not competition. Speaking as a cinema lover, this isn’t healthy for any of us.

#Parasakthi has been watched. It is a heavyweight film that punches far below its weight and ends up as a product where intent and ambition aren't matched by the writing and execution. We don't spend enough time with Sivakarthikeyan's Chezhiyan to understand his machinations, his power, his reach, and his stature. We are just told he is a lot of things, but the fact that we don't see what he and his Puranaanooru team of Avengers have pulled off in the past acts as a very visible layer of disengagement in whatever happens in the final act. There are a few rousing emotional moments in Parasakthi, and they are super effective. But it makes one think if it was the writing that made it rousing and emotional, or was it the fact that our own belief system about Hindi imposition was switched on. Nevertheless, these scenes are effective even if the buildups to these segments feel inadequate. It also doesn't help that the characters in Parasakthi are largely one-note and their politics are superficial. And it is a pity that this includes both the hero and the villain of the film. #SudhaKongara's decision to make it into a hero-villain conflict dilutes the theme at hand. Of course, this isn't the first time she has used such a plot device to talk about systemic oppression. She loves the underdog story, and Chezhiyan is the archetype of the same. But pitting him against Ravi Mohan's Thiru feels like a copout. This isn't the same as having a token evil corporate villain. This also reduces the anti-Hindi imposition agitation's intensity by focussing more on Thiru's journey. Yes, it is poignant to see a Tamil guy running away from his identity to appease the majority, and ending up as a confused guy that no one cares about. But that should have come in a different film. Dealing with this here, despite Ravi's menacing performance, means that a lot of other areas are left unexplored. The impact of the Hindi imposition and the reasons why the agitation peaked, and why it was a student-led movement, aren't explained enough in Parasakthi. We are given a few glimpses here and there, but that is far from enough. Even the Pollachi incident referenced in the film, which was an atrocious overreach by the powers that be, is relegated to a footnote and is overridden by a moment of triumph that, unfortunately, is shown as a heroic moment rather than the bloody spoils of a battle. These missteps overshadow the writing flourishes in the film, especially the post office scene, the Arignar Anna scene, and even the much-ridiculed Delhi scene ft. Indira Gandhi, which I found quite interesting. However, the culmination of the last act, once again ft. Indira Gandhi, is a scene that felt so out of place and out of sync. Even the sacrifices made by the martyrs of the agitations against Hindi imposition aren't given the right focus, and unnecessary detours like the TWO romantic numbers eat up the time. There is a sense of earnestness in #Sivakarthikeyan's performance, and he aces the mass moments courtesy Ravi K Chandran's silhouettes and well-framed elevation shots. He is also quite effective in the portions where he has to play the wizened older brother of Atharvaa. But the intensity dips a bit when it matters, in portions like the interrogation scene and the inciting pre-interval scene. He is a good crier, but needs to get better at ugly crying... He'd get there, for sure. #Sreeleela, when not burdened by the romantic angle, is terrific in #Parasakthi and points to Sudha for giving her a complete character that is given just enough individual moments to shine, and so she does! Basically, Parasakthi had the opportunity to be an all-important documentation of history that should have happened long before 2026. It documents the incidents, even if the censors want the people to believe these are figments of imagination. But the agitations deserved a better film, and Parasakthi might just be the first step in a series of films and probably even web series that talk about this dark yet illuminating chapter of Tamil history. Andha thee paravum. Paravattum. #ParasakthiReview

"#Dhool was Vikram's baasha" 🤩 So true. Singam Pola song was a blast in the theatre. And the song did another round when it was cut to visuals of Sachin's 97 against Pak in World Cup 2003 and i, as a kid, went bonkers and watched it 1000s of times. How many of you remember that edit? Can someone share it here?

The scene where Vikram breaks Pasupathy’s arm, the explosive interval fight, to songs like “Singam Pola,” theatre transformed into a roaring stadium. The frenzy, the whistles, the madness, nothing has ever come close. Dhool wasn’t just a movie. It was #Vikram’s Baasha. ❤️❤️ #22yearsofDhool #ChiyaanVikram
