Contractor is given just one day. He doubts whether such contracts are fixed. Corporation ensures the tender value does not exceed a certain amount, above which they must seek approval from higher authorities. If six bulldozers are bought for the Perungudi dumping yard, why should the Corporation float six tenders, each valued at Rs 48.33 lakh, instead of a single tender, he asks. He doubts the machinery is being purchased for more than its market value. Corporation floats limited tenders enabling only particular people take part in this. He says these kinds of tenders can be floated only during natural calamities. @CMOTamilnadu
