So basically if you choose to bump a player they can retaliate with a hit. So going forward there shouldn’t be any free kicks paid against a player defending themselves from a bump if they catch a player high is that the take away from this MRO decision?

No case to answer for Comben after the AFL decided Reid “abruptly changed direction” to veer into his opponent and that Comben’s actions didn’t constitute a strike

@ArdenStReview Is it really that hard to believe? It’s just typical north. Made me cringe when everyone carried on after round 1.. same old story, pathetic footy club we are.
English

It's hard to believe this is the same team from last week.

@Chatters_4 @NMFCOfficial Amen. Say it every single week! Everyone hated on Kayne turner yet he was 3x better than what jk is.
English

@outbreezyWC And so we should, we’re around 2 years ahead of you in terms of the rebuild. Think you guys will start seeing proper improvement next season
English

@ToddJHamilton @KangaCanadiens The only rival they’ll have soon is Brad Scott.. go bombers!
English

@dfauvs @KangaCanadiens No, they’ll still be bigger rivals with Richmond, Collingwood, Carlton, hawthorn, west coast etc
English

@ToddJHamilton @KangaCanadiens They will have too soon enough.. bottom 2 for the next 5 years unfortunately
English

@KangaCanadiens Lol Essendon are not a rival to North Melbourne, they don’t care about your club.
English

@RonnyLerner You are a clown mate, please don’t attend another press conference again. Pathetic questions

For those interested, I asked North Melbourne coach Alastair Clarkson a few questions last night about the impact the AFL Bondi tribute fiasco might've had on the club's Jewish star Harry Sheezel, following another stellar performance from the young gun against Port Adelaide.
Below are Clarko's answers, which I thought were excellent. They dwarfed anything we've heard from the AFL over the weekend. Andrew Dillon and co. could learn a thing or two.
-------------------------------------------------------
Q: Have you had to get around, or have a chat, to Harry Sheezel this week, given the revelation of the AFL taking out references to the Jewish community in that Bondi tribute? Have you had to get around him and have a chat to him? And if so, how is he feeling about it?
A: No. You know, Harry’s as mature a kid as you could possibly have and he does that in his own private way with his family and friends and he’s got the full support of our footy club. But he and we don’t want to use AFL footy as a platform to push any cause. At the appropriate time, you know, we’ll all provide whatever support to any group of people who are finding it tough to live in this great country of ours and we want to open arms for everyone that wants to grace these shores and live (in) what is, I reckon, the best country in the world.
Q: Is it a bit contradictory when the AFL tries to paint itself as diversity and inclusion and they do something like that? Do you have any thoughts on that?
A: No. No. I don’t want to weigh in on it, mate. You know, we’re here to play footy, Harry Sheezel’s here to play footy and make his family, his friends and his footy club proud and I thought that was the case today.

@alex_anders @JG232_ I’d say his spot is pretty secure, they rate him highly internally. He’s off the hbf.. good user

Torn on wether to give Blakiston one more week v Visentini or to pounce on Fonti on the bubble.
Fonti has a -33 BE and is on the bubble coming off scores of 119 and 83.
His next three games of Saints, Pies and Tigers is appealing for the role he plays down back. #SuperCoach

@martinb1708 As I’ve mentioned numerous amount of times everyone bagged Kayne turner.. this guy is Kayne turner 2.0.. and I’d say probably worse than him. I don’t care about his age or his great pressure acts.. if you can’t kick you shouldn’t be playing footy.
English

@NMFCOfficial Just when you think things couldn’t get any worse, they somehow do.. we are the gift that keeps on giving.
English

@kangamerchant He’ll be playing in the 2s game on Sunday. Still building match fitness.
English

2 years on … would be nice to see Josh Goater named in our practice match squad for this weekend. Even if on limited minutes.
He can and will have a real positive impact when injected back into the backline, as Riley Hardeman did last year.
#Kangas
The North Merchant 🦘@kangamerchant
The last time we saw a full game from Josh Goater was the 2024 practice match. One of North’s best on for the day. 20 disposals 1 goal 5 marks Will be good to have him back!
English

@dfauvs @DryburghTom Kicking efficiency of less than 50% - and he doesn’t get many kicks, less than half a goal per game. Tackles well but that can’t be enough to get a game of AFL football
English

@kangamerchant Just don’t get how the club keep constantly making terrible mistakes/ selection calls. Blows my mind.. blind Freddy could see coops should be in the 1s
English

It just has to be Larkey and Trembath if they are insisting on only playing two key forwards.
Love Jack Darling, he got here when standards were poor and there was really nothing in the way of a 2nd KPF.
But what is there to gain from playing him over Trembath?

A key forward who burst onto the scene last year was intriguingly absent from the club's practice match side on Friday. zerohanger.com/its-super-clos…
