Then the users log out with exactly zero ownership of the thing that created that value. Elegant model. Web3 has been flirting with a different idea: data ownership that actually belongs to the user. Not rented presence. Not borrowed identity. Real control over the information that defines someone online. In theory, people could carry their data across platforms instead of starting from zero every time they move. Wild concept. Right now X runs on one of the richest data streams on earth. Conversations, trends, sentiment, culture moving in real time. It’s basically the pulse of the internet. Yet the people generating that pulse don’t really own any part of it. If I were you, that would look like unfinished engineering. Because the moment users control their own data, platforms stop acting like landlords and start acting like infrastructure.
