Sat 22 Sept 1979: Clifton Woke about 7.30 full of spunk an vinegar, 10 train to Nptn, meat pie cup o tea at station where Nigel F. an Adrian picked me up… Nige dropped me Clifton 2.30 a.m. W was surprised to see me sober … ‘dreading’ my return smashed drunk with Reds beaten.

Fri 14/9/01: in flight, Rio to Atlanta We were glad to be getting out at all, Delta American United not yet flying. I read nothing, Moulin Rouge unbelievably insipid story not even any nudie alerts .. Bridget Jones .. fell asleep before final twists in boffingly predictable plot
