Many people are confused by what foods are ultra-processed and argue about the definition. But definitions in nutrition are sometimes odd. Just look up what vegetables are actually fruits, what fruits are actually berries, and what nuts are actually fruits or legumes.

You missed the boat on red meat - shown to be fine and the most nutritious food on earth. Also, saturated fat - so much good research. Even AHA said years ago sat fat no longer a nutrient of concern.

@shelley_bean60 @Newsweek True! The big problem with the early studies wasn't that the observed prescription addiction rates were far off. It was that the studies were tiny & weak, & didn't consider potential misuse with widespread opioids

Some discrepancies. It was mentioned that 1980s opioid studies "were badly flawed &...discredited" yet all other stats in article support those early studies 👉🏽 addiction IS extremely low, 1% - 3%!

IDK on Twitter I'm exposed to "extreme" left-wing and "extreme" right-wing views more often than IRL, so there's a greater diversity of viewpoints, but I don't think that contradicts the idea that Twitter contributes to polarization!

I think the most salient single philosophical difference between liberals and conservatives is the amount of power they assign to “will” as opposed to “systems/structures.” Will can be individual or collective.

Most of us operate as if feelings are something that happens to us, or are simply part of who we are. Doubtless that's often a fair model. But maybe in many case we have more agency with feelings than we realize. Should we take more responsibility for them?

@luxidecker Just heard from my brother-in-law there. A mass of downed branches, but otherwise they're pretty fine, no terrible damage. Power is out pretty much everywhere around there. I know some were hit harder there with flooding & trees.
