Still no sign of hotel quarantine regulations. If tomorrow, no prospect of a parliamentary vote on them until *after* they are brought into force. This is a law which will lead to the detention of potentially thousands of British adults and children - zero prior scrutiny.

Bang on from @AdamWagner1 the Home Secretary simultaneously said rules were ‘clear’ and got them wrong (recreation is no longer an reason for leaving home); and also sought to emphasise their stringency whilst invoking a wider no-longer existent exception. A mess.

I know Covid moves fast but it doesn't move so fast that the new laws can't be published at least a few days in advance. It is wrong to have tens of millions of people told they must follow new rules (laws) which aren't available yet. Causes panic and police misunderstandings
