Final touring day before heading home. Shopping in Estes Park and Pearl Street Stroll in Boulder. Saw the Stanley Hotel (“The Shining” w/ Jack Nicholson), and the elk were back with us this afternoon. Overall a great trip and experience!

Just a morning update from our hotel at the start of our day. An alpha Bull (bugling away and protective) with his heard, 8 female and 6 young ones. Came down out of weather to get their breakfast! Great way to start our day of shopping in Estes Park and Boulder.

Beautiful views day on the Anniversary tour in RMNP. Elk heard in a low meadow, also saw a large bull elk. Mt Cirrus (12797) on the west side, and a great view headed east back to Estes Park. (Elk burger for lunch) America the Beautiful! it is now snowing, 3-5” forecast in mts.

Another “High” day on the tour, a through the Loveland Pass (11991, Continental Divide) then through the Berthoud Pass (11306, CD). Shopping in Winter Park (8600), into the west entrance of RMNP the Trail Ridge Road over the Fall River Pass (11795, CD), snowed on, to Estes Park.

Day 6 of our Tour, Rocky Mt. High Day: through the Fremont Pass (11381)) by Mt Princeton and Mt Yale (14ers), then past Mt. Elbert (14433) through the Independence Pass (12095) to shop in n Aspen, Glenwood Springs, Dillon. Another Beautiful Day!

Day 5 of the Anniversary (Mt. Village) Tour. Looking at the Vail Pass to start the day (10,600’) and then shopping Vail, Frisco, and Breckinridge. A very fun and productive day!

Day three of the Anniversary Tour, “Reaching New Heights”Pikes Peak, Woodlawn Park, and US Olympic and Paralympic Museum. Another beautiful day from 90 at the hotel to 46 on Pikes Peak!

Day Two of the 40th Anniversary Tour included the Cheyenne Mt. Zoo and a tour of the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Both Lucy and I are enjoying the walking in the beautiful weather!

Today equals 40 years and counting, ready for 20+ more!

On our combined birthday (8/26), my father’s (‘37-20) and mine (‘61), Missing him and remembering him fondly, hoping I can continue to live up to the level of excellence he set for me. Be happy and grateful!
