@DanielleNicki I got rejected by my film school of choice and now I'm so grateful I don't have that student loan debt. Instead I took ucla extension classes (shoutout to Corey Mandell!) and applied to writing fellowships every year until I got in. I wrote 10 scripts before I got staffed.

@juliayorks There's a Spanish saying, “Cada niño nace con su pan debajo del brazo." A baby is born with bread under his arm, ie, good fortune. My mom told me this after I got pregnant & lost a job. 4 days after giving birth, I was hired to write a pilot. Mom was like, see, there's your pan!

The strike has put any sort of life progress on hold. Getting vulnerable here, but was hoping to start a family this year. They say there's no right time to have kids, but can't help but feel like being on strike with no income is the wrong time, right?

Our Office is investigating the tree trimming that occurred outside Universal Studios where workers, writers, and actors are exercising their right to picket. The trimmed trees are LA City managed street trees. (Before and after photos below)
