So what's a good music composition app to have on your phone just for writing down little ideas you have whilst on a journey? I feel like writing music when I travel places but always forget my laptop

Sure, it won't be as fast as M2 & Intel support in MacOS will end soon... RIP Bootcamp But NOT TODAY! Most of the benefits of the new systems are for image. The gains for pro audio are pretty minimal unless you're the kind of chump who can't keep their plugins in their pants.

Rather than retire the whole thing @olgamreed & I are upgrading these parts & should get a few years from this fab workhorse. For a fraction of the cost (~£500) of a new Mac Studio (£3000+) this iMac will be maxed out with 6TB of SSD & 64GB of RAM (see image/alt for parts)

🧵 The amount of e-waste in creative industries is a bit sickening. Planned obselescence is a problem. This 2017 iMac (27", 5K, i7-7700K, Radeon Pro 580) has handled enormous mix & edit PT sessions for years without breaking a sweat, only recently the HDD & RAM started to fail.

@citesandsounds Yes - yes I am... There is a copy of it with the not-so-secret "research" N64 that lives behind the dubbing theatre (1N90) at work... Although 5m wide projector and coming from a pair of Genelec 8050s probably isn't in the spirit of the 14in CRT TVs from ~Y2K.
