One of the biggest critizisims I've had for this game throughout all the teasers and mechanics is the universal command inputs. I am a hard defender that unique command inputs (and command inputs in general) are very important for defining a characters identity. But the devs have proven me SOOOOO wrong and clearly used this to their advantage. By giving all characters the same special inputs, it allows them to make their unique buttons SOOOO much more complicated and unique without bogging down a moveset with a million things to remember in a game where you have to learn a minnimum of 4 characters. Spiderman's websling having over 10 different mechanical uses is such a cool and perfect way to make Spiderman and it is made easier to learn and understand by the special moves being made the way they are. This team knows what they are doing and they are doing it fucking WELL

@dicedevillll worst thing about strive is the homogenized buttons and gatlings. just the smallest bits of personality like an antiair 2s or self-gatling 5k are so good. go all the way

Strive badly needs a patch im ngl. I still think the game is fun and i still love bedman but its ovjectively not in a good spot and a bunch of characters imo feel pretty pointless to pick. Ill still play in it, but i will play more my side fighting games too

iron man doesn't have a 5u[4] like spiderman because it just wouldn't make sense on him and wouldn't feel good on him. meanwhile that input on spiderman feels so much better BECAUSE its on spiderman and is relating exactly to the motion he is doing. i know that 2xko has similar philosophies but i believe a core part of this execution is in the inclusion of command inputs

@HHHHnyeh what i am specifically praising here is that they are using a simplified version of command inputs to allow for much more diverse and complex amount and types of inputs for unique moves.

@funnyusername46 tbh i would mind if this game went against the universal inputs for special moves specifically at this point. they have made a game design choice and they should hard commit to it. that being said giving someone a [2]8u or [4]6u would be very interesting and cool for unique moves
