I've lived in Argentina for over 18 years. I'm a migrant here. And I want to say it clearly: Samuel L. Jackson's accusation is false. I'm not speaking from theory. I'm speaking from the experience of having built a life here, of having been welcomed, integrated, of having seen firsthand what it means to be a country made of migrants. Let's go over some history, since he brought it up: 🇦🇷 Argentina abolished slavery in 1813 with the Free Womb Law, and definitively in the 1853 Constitution — earlier than much of the continent. This is a country built by receiving waves of immigrants from Italy, Spain, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and today from all over Latin America. Multiculturalism isn't a talking point here, it's the foundation of national identity. 🇺🇸 The United States didn't abolish slavery until 1865, and upheld legal racial segregation (Jim Crow laws) until 1964-65. Less than 65 years ago, that same country had separate bathrooms, schools, and bus seats by skin color. 🇬🇧 England built much of its economic power on the transatlantic slave trade, and its colonial empire left a record of institutional racism across four continents that's still being reckoned with today. Before pointing fingers, it might be worth looking at your own history. Argentina has its own unresolved issues, like any country — but calling it "the most racist country in the world" isn't criticism, it's misinformation. Here is my opinion on the budget, as promised: advantages, critiques, and where we can pass the chainsaw. Let us begin with the positives. Therefore, I support allocating significant resources to the technical side, and we should expect tangible results within a year, such as the "exciting tools" that will contribute to the ecosystem. As such, I refrain from passing judgment on these expenses, as I consider them relevant and necessary. Any critiques from industry experts familiar with the expenses and details of each tool, and willing to provide feedback, would be highly appreciated. Now, the part you have been wating for ! Moving on to the areas where cuts can be made, based on the remaining ₳85,983,678, I have identified unsubstantiated expenses or areas where reductions can be made, totaling ₳14,290,540. While some of these may not be entirely eliminated, they urgently require revision. The goal is, as in any efficiency or review department, to work like a surgeon and identify where small expenses unnecessarily inflate the total. Gradually removing these unjustified or vague expenses, or those lacking clarity or impact, can lead to much more efficient management. This review took 3 hours of my valuable time, so there may be some errors or things I missed. You may also have a different opinion on certain matters, but please, let's remain civil. To add a touch of humor to such a serious matter, I am tagging DOGE and the Ministry of Deregulation.
