@mattpocockuk Are you still using auto compact to get out of the dumb zone on itself?

Sometimes I experiment with going deep in the dumb zone to implement a feature Today it cost me 90 minutes of debugging to fix its stupid mistakes in a complex build Need to stop trying this

🚀 Fable works. WebSocket debugging support in RN drafted in one shot overnight. Materialising working demos is a particular joy.

it's live 🚀 npm i rn-expo-emoji-picker emoji picker for react native's new architecture — with an optional native row renderer that draws each row as a single native view. that's what you're seeing in the video. • Swappable engines: FlashList v2 / LegendList / FlatList • Skin tones • Recent emojis • Reaction bar + chat composer recipes • MIT licensed • Works with or without Expo
Jassi Singh@Jassi22G_

An emoji picker for React Native that draws each row as ONE native view. Left: JS rows. Right: native rows (CoreText / Canvas). This is a 4-year-old Android. In DEV mode. Max-speed flings over 1,900+ emoji. Zero blank cells. Not one. New Architecture only. Dropping soon 👀

@markahesketh @mattpocockuk Yeah, I thought Matt would want to rename his so it's easier to keep it up-to-date, since there's definitely people who prefer keeping both.

@callstackio Nice!! What's the recommended way to fill test-map.json? It should be commited and updated on every PR, right?

We’re introducing Sniffler, a tool for JS and TS teams with large E2E suites. It takes changed files, traces import/export relationships across the codebase, and identifies the E2E tests those changes can affect. The goal is simple: stop defaulting to full-suite runs when the change only touches a small part of the app. The article covers why we built it, how it works, and where we want to take it next. @peterpme For me it's 1 hour asking questions and discussing architecture, 20 minutes waiting for implementation, 1 more hour discussing everything that was missed and how to do it better, 20 minutes waiting, then 4 hours of reviewing its code and asking more questions

@mattpocockuk How do you handle code comments created by agents? They're frequently too big and now how a human would do. I've tried asking to be more concise and a few other things, but nothing really worked so far. Thanks!

@mattpocockuk Do you spawn multiple agents to seek prototyping with different POVs? How?

@diegolmello Right, I use /claude-handoff for this to just run claude --bg --name "Blah" "Prompt" a bunch of times I think this is a harness task, not a skill task

My new skill /wayfinder is letting me do stuff I've never considered trying I'm planning an entire course with it every minute of the last four days Closing in on 100 separate grilling/prototyping/research sessions All contributing back to a central map that: - Grows as I learn more about the problem - Shrinks as I find answers to the questions It's the next evolution of /grill-me

@mattpocockuk If a few steps can be done in parallel, it could trigger them as parallel agents. If they need to be sequential, the orchestrator should manage each step, spawning and assigning agents as needed. The orchestrator only stops when it finds a hitl.

@mattpocockuk I start a wayfinder and it seems to split the research fine. The problem is each step is requiring me to run the command above on a new session. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I think it's my env with memories that could confuse the agent.

@mattpocockuk Compact when I’m keeping the session. Handoff when I need a fork or add context to a session. Clear when the session is done and I’m lazy enough not to close and open a new one.

I feel like I've developed a clear rationale for when to /compact, when to /clear, and when to /handoff But I'm having trouble articulating it. So, what's your mental model for when to do each?

I’m trying to make the best git / diff / PR review app for macOS. It’s already FAST AF 🔥 30MB, low memory usage, loads any repo instantly, full syntax highlighting. Using React Native macOS for the best performance. v1 coming soon! What would make this the best app for your?
