I'm a little surprised that nobody knew 📱 can now screen our calls... at a tech meet-up (AI collective)!! Is this just a regional feature? support.apple.com/en-us/111106

A Chinese engineering student built a weather tracking station in his dorm. Three Mac Minis. Two monitors. Satellite maps on both screens. Labels on each box: UI/UX. DEV. ADMIN. Total cost under $2,000. His roommate thought it was a climate research project. His professors thought it was a thesis prototype. He let everyone keep thinking that. Then someone noticed what the station was actually connected to. A wallet. Making $101K. Betting on the temperature. ColdMath. $101,042 profit. 5,252 predictions. Joined November 2025. Bio: Edge Compounds. → @ColdMath?via=carverfomo" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">polymarket.com/@ColdMath?via=… The station does one thing. Claude pulls live pilot weather data. Real sensors. Real readings. Updated every 1-3 hours from stations worldwide. Compares it to prediction market prices. When they don't match the DEV box flags it. Mismatch found. He places the trade. Green result. $25 on Tokyo hitting 16C on March 20. Payout: $12,452. $24 on Chicago reaching 54F on March 11. Payout: $12,398. $13 on Lucknow hitting 39C on March 7. Payout: $6,850. Twenty five dollar bets returning twelve thousand. On the weather. A friend who flies commercial told him pilots get atmospheric data hours before any public forecast. Temperature to a tenth of a degree. This data is free. Aviation safety requires it. Nobody outside of aviation even looks at it. He looked. Pointed Claude at the feeds. Said: find me every city where the forecast doesn't match the price. Claude found dozens. Every single day. His roommate saw the station running one morning and finally asked what it actually does. The student showed him the balance. The roommate didn't say anything. Just asked for a second monitor. 34K people watching. $96K still loaded in active positions. Three Mac Minis. Two screens. One quiet kid who realized the most predictable thing on Earth is the thing everyone ignores. The weather.

7. To add insult to injury they tried to charge us 3 time to fix their errors and lack of alignment: A) to import products B) to activate the trial site into a paid site and C) to restore the expired site (which apparently can't be done anyway!). Just shambles.

6. Despite offers to restore the missing site through a charge we spent 3 days chatting to their WhatsApp support with a mix of information. Turns out they were unable to even find the site they had deleted. One week later and we're at a loss. ChatGPT says:

.@GoDaddy your website builder & support is a nightmare. A terrible experience. A client already had e-commerce, so the path of least resistance was to duplicate / re-create. 1. The product export was not available for days at the time.

@37signals I know @dhh is not a big  fan but while I’ve loving fizzy.do it really does seem to struggle with Safari on MacOS. Are there known issues? If I’ve been working on a card for a while the Create button is non responsive. Reloading has not effect.

@_overment For whatever reason it's maxed out at 4 nodes even though a single Mac Studio has 6 TB 5 ports. I've not got to the bottom of why yet. Obviously it requires TB5 so older Studios are not supported.

@diegomoore did you find any info about clustering the Mac Studio with M4 Max?

I've been saying the  M5 Mac Studio is going to be incredible for local AI but I'm not sure they can avoid the RAM spike. Somebody should go and build either an M4 Max/M3 Ultra cluster. 6x TB ports maxes out at 7 nodes. Anybody want to work out the costs and comparatives?

@Rachel84821213 @zatzi Only two extremes for birth sides represented. But would be great to add two less extreme variants too (single working mum and less children)

I've been avoiding @Cloudflare for some years pretty much just because they're too big and too much of a risk. Shame as they started so well.

@rcanand @dhh 👆🏼 PRIVATE & Privacy are good reasons. It won’t be long until a single Mac Studio M5 ultra with enough memory will start to be useful. Heck even cluster via TB5 and MLX given the relatively low power usage. Admittedly not for a single dev but maybe a local LLM for 5+ devs.

@dhh - most questions that most people ask AI can be answered well by a small local llm. Most complexity is outliers. - local=private, deterministic, controllable, always available

Screen share just showed black. We tried again in a new FT call between an iPhone 14 and 12 and no issues with audio nor video but iOS26 in an iPhone 12 has been very slow even more so for screensharing where it unbeareable and effectively useless.

@AppleSupport your 26 release has been appalling across the ecosystem. Screen sharing between an iPad Pro and M1 iPad Air on a FT call did not work, nor between the iPard Air and M1 MBP and we had audio issues on both pairs of devices (using continuity to swap devices).
