Reform alone isn't enough. To succeed, we must strengthen teacher support, improve institutional coordination, and empower parents as partners

Kenya’s shift to Competency-Based Education (CBE) is transforming our classrooms. Last week, we joined KEMI to launch our Breadth of Skills research report on teacher mentorship. What is actually happening on the ground? Let’s dive into the findings. 🧵

We also launched our Coaching at Scale Pilot Report, officially launched by Dr. Maurice Odondo, CEO of KEMI. The report shares insights on strengthening coaching systems to better support educators and improve teaching practice. More insights coming soon

A key discussion point: coaching as an enabler of quality learning. Strengthening mentorship during teaching practicum is critical to bridging the gap between teacher preparation and classroom realities.

How can we better support teachers before they enter the classroom? Together with KEMI and APHRC, we brought together education stakeholders to examine evidence on mentorship and coaching frameworks for pre-service teachers.

We value this longstanding partnership and the incredible impact it continues to have on school communities in Kenya.
