trying to figure out what is the use of this thing

@amextravel users, it doesn't matter if you accurately input # of travelers on their site (as we did), it allows you to book rooms that can't accommodate the whole group, and on arrival you will be forced to upgrade or get another room on your own dime! #amextravel disaster
