DON'T JUST STAND THERE! Listen to "Stoicism," the new Dim Wizard jam featuring @katie_dey. It's a song about how chaotic times call for chaotic reactions. I wrote it. Katie exploded it on production, vocals, synth, bass, drums, you name it. Listen: distrokid.com/hyperfollow/di…

What's next in the Live Nation/Ticketmaster monopolization saga? The awkward, midstream settlement by USDOJ was presumably intended to make the case go away, but it may well have the opposite effect. It could set a floor for remedies and increase the chance of a breakup.

The jury has found that Live Nation is an illegal monopoly. Now we enter the remedy phase, where a judge will decide what happens next.

The industry picks the winners and losers, there is not some pure market of taste being corrupted by a handful of nepo bands that need to be exposed

@the_tisburys so much for the afterglow is power-poppy but sparkle & fade is grunge

If you are a young musician on the internet, STOP arguing with strangers about attending the right number of local shows; START moving to Athens Georgia with twenty friends. LIVE in your friend’s closet. WORK at vegan diners. RECORD a ton of classic albums influenced by 60s pop

i prob shoulda kept this in drafts but if we’re doing this, everclear’s ‘sparkle & fade’ is a better grunge record than anything by pearl jam, soundgarden, or alice in chains
Zachary Lipez@ZacharyLipez

If we’re doing this, let’s do it. “Sweet Oblivian” is better than anything Pumpkins ever did. Nirvana’s best is Nevermind. In Utero is fine. Love Battery > Pearl Jam. AiC > Soundgarden (duh). Um, let’s see… Flop > STP. Babes in Toyland > Hole. Subpop needs to reissue Dickless.

TONIGHT AT COMET PING PONG!! The Dim Wizard live rock and roll experience will open for the legendary Mirah and the excellent local songwriter Jane O'Neill. We're on at 9:30 playing some of our chiller jams, which will still be... kinda loud, sorry. SEE YOU THERE!!

@FranziaMom @DaftDoggo to me, S/T didn't need solving, NHA needed solving. but cilantro, I guess. imo Cody's hits are higher highs than any of their other records except S/T which elevates it in spite of its inconsistency that's how I land here with their two most consistent later records at 3 + 4

@dimwizzy @DaftDoggo I disagree in that I feel like NHA is the “solved” version of their early sound that HAS some early successful power pop moves, and Cody is the growing pains album that connects on the hits but sags in the back half

@FranziaMom @DaftDoggo it's a fine record that shares the strengths and weaknesses of a lot of their records. but following in real time S/T had such incredible energy out the gate, that the next two records fell in its shadow to me until they found their stride again in the power pop of Cody + beyond

@FranziaMom @DaftDoggo this has got to be like a cilantro/soap thing. I really can't fathom how many people love NHA aside from the fact that it's the one most people heard first because it was on Epitaph.
