If there was any piece of advice I would give to younger people (or really anyone) it would be to read books. The fact that no one is reading is a gift to you. You can choose to continuously engage with big ideas and difficult subjects while your peers let their minds atrophy

Fewer than half of US adults read a book last year. Even fewer read an actual novel, and the trend is looking worse still for teenagers. Why is nobody talking about this??
