there’s a gentle bob of her head as she nods. “safe place to be i guess. better than out there anyway. i assume there’s not much around here to decorate a house with. that is when i get one.”

"I don't know what to do now... It's been a long time since I've had a night like this," she said while playing with her fork.

She finished eating and remained quiet, just observing, unsure of what to do.

She rolled her eyes and went back to eating with a small smile.

Tess paused her meal for a moment. "If you want more, there's more in the pan, don't hesitate."

She continued eating in silence, but pleased that he had enjoyed it. It reminded her of old times.

She gives a nod and turns to follow along, trying to keep up her stride to match his. “How long you been here?”

“Alright.” Pushing herself off the fence she went across the road and made her way to her room above the bar. She had two backpacks and a duffel bag. All worn from her travels. It takes about ten minutes before she’s walking back to him. “Ready.”

A soft nod comes from her. She looks down the dusty road and then back at him. “Mind waiting while I grab my shit?”

“Thanks. So … where can I bring my stuff?”

"Thanks, Tex." She smiled Before starting to eat slowly.

"Then that's a good sign," she smiled as she sat down at the table.
