Incredibly, a similar paper was published to the arXiv on the 29th from the Shenyang National Laboratory for Materials Science! "The existence of these peculiar flat bands may be connected with the experimentally observed remarkable superconducting properties of LK-99."

WE ARE OFFICIALLY BACK @sineatrix finds a theoretical basis for superconductivity in Cu-doped Lead Apatite. Isolated flat bands at the Fermi level is a hallmark of superconducting crystals. LK99 has it!!!! This is huge

@rhatr Most millennials like me are working on non-Apache open source projects these days. Some are part of the Cloud Native Foundation, but most are independent projects. ASF isn’t the center of the big data world like it used to be, especially with things more data scienc-y now

Yes but, I feel like both sides are to blame: most millennials just don't seem to be interested in working inside of the sausage factory AKA governance side of Open Source. And that does create this huge imbalance:

I would call today successful. Lots of progress on class prep, successful call with potential corporate partner, helped some students, walked the dog, went Rambo on the weeds taking over our garden, and overcame key technical hurdles with a consulting project.
