5th graders from @SudieTag discovered how sedimentary rocks form through the processes of deposition, compaction, and cementation. They also explored the idea that heat, pressure, and time can turn plants into coal and plankton into oil and natural gas. @StellaKastl@AngieGaylord

5th graders from Umphrey Lee visited the @disdeec! Young naturalists explored the characteristics of animals and their adaptations to different habitats and niches. Students used binoculars to differentiate between black vultures and turkey vultures. @StellaKastl@AngieGaylord
5th graders from @SilbersteinES visited the @disdeec to discover how sedimentary rocks and fossil fuels are formed. These kids have a future as petroleum geologists, sedimentologists, reservoir modelers/engineers, paleontologists, and more!
