"I believe an outline is successful when I've given myself a reason why everything is there." - @ed_solomon #WordByWord. IMHO this is a beautiful way to say do I know my world, do I believe my characters, have I 'lived' my story.

"You can't just say because it's cool." @Powerkeni #WordByWord on how an outline can help with answering questions from others who don't live in your head (ie: defending your choices to a studio exec). IMHO asking "why" you've done something isn't always a declaration of war.

"There will always be too many cooks in the kitchen. I don't need them at the grocery store with me also." - @Powerkeni at #WordByWord session, on when or when not to share the outline with others.

"Everyone says they know how to read an outline. How to watch a roughcut. The truth is nobody knows how to." @ed_solomon #wordbyword. As a producer I push back on the "nobody", but agree that most do not. Be mindful about what stage of your creation you show to whom and when.
