There are exaggerations and creative liberties but 300 is not as inaccurate as ppl like to think

There were actually over 7000 greek soldiers at Thermopylae against an estimated 100-300k persians. Its impressive that they managed to hold them off for 3 days but also the story of 300 is not meant to be taken as historical. Its told through the framing device of a spartan survivor from that battle telling tall tales of Spartan heroism against overwhelming odds to pump up the greek forces before their upcomming battle at Plataea.

I will not watch The Odyssey. Not because it replaces heroic Bronze Age ethos with cringe Californian psychobabble. Not because of cringe America DEI casting Not because the costumes are laughably inaccurate. Because Nolan films have boring, convoluted plots intended to appeal to midwits. The cinematography is as boring as the dialogue. I wanted to punch the little airplane screen when watching Oppenheimer on a flight. Repulsive to all of my senses (except scent). In 2010 my housemate raved about Inception and insisted I go and see it. My opinion of him dropped severely when I saw it. Screenslop for the masses. "ooh what if dream inside a dream?" So deep, man. The batman films had some unintentionally hilarious dialogue and worked better for Nolan, because capeshit is within his abilities. The classics are not.
