I hope the world sits up and takes notice of the Heartlessness of this state's administration, the mute spectatorship of the central government and the sustained nonchalance of National news broadcasters. #JusticeForRGKar

Tone deaf behaviour of elected representatives. This is what happens when year after year the same set of people are elected to power. They simply stop caring.

9 young boys & girls are on #HungerStrike . One of them is serious & may slip into coma. They belong to the state that sent you to the Parliament. Even if you cannot do anything for them at least stop being so shameless

People are on the streets in Calcutta with idols of Gopal. Crying, begging- for justice, for the administration to take concrete steps so that the fast unto death doesn't end in death of the protesting doctors.

Indian news channels are showing the loot and vandalism in temples and pandals in Bdesh while conveniently ignoring the plight of the people on the west of the Radcliffe Line. Piece of advice for the news media houses, why do you keep stations here and waste your money?

Since independence, India has mostly been a hostile witness to west bengals tribulations. No wonder we lead such miserable lives here.

9 doctors have been fasting for a week in west bengal. I won't delve into dissecting the dimensions of heartlessness of the current government and administration here, but what apalls me is that there has been little to no coverage in national media regarding this issue.

Dear medicos across India, we are at the site of Indefinite Hunger Strike! The situation is very bad here! 🙏 Few of the people on strike are so weak that they are needing wheelchairs! They need us right now! If we can’t help them now, we should dissolve all associations!

Sharing as received — A vehicle carrying drinking water on behalf of an NGO Lt. Bhagat Prasad Sonkar was approaching Junior Doctor Fasting venue at Dharmatala, Kolkata. It was stopped by the police. They were being diverted multiple times presumably in an effort to keep them from reaching the venue to dispense drinking water to the protesting doctors on hunger strike who are only on water. Finally the Secretary of the organisation, Vola Sankar, jumped out and rushed to the agitators. Senior doctors and general public immediately approached the vehicle, girls made a cordon round it and vehicle was guided towards venue in a disciplined procession. However, immediately before reaching the venue police again came in big numbers to obstruct the vehicle's movement. Finally people outnumbered police beyond any proportion and vehicle with life saving drinking water was parked peacefully. LONG LIVE MOVEMENT. WE DEMAND JUSTICE.

When the entire Nation is celebrating the festival for worshipping the Female goddess There are West Bengal Doctors sitting day and night with indefinite “Hunger strike till death” demanding justice to a female Doctor Abhaya who was murdered and raped in the same land where the women is worshipped and surprisingly neither the state govt nor does the CBI could bring anything concurrent or evident to bring justice to her ! Most of the people have forgotten abhaya but if this fight is still alive for justice it’s because of these people on ground. Long live West Bengal doctors 🙌🏻

Our fight is against the threat syndicate in medical colleges, which claimed Abhaya as a victim. We demand justice for her and 10 other causes, including the broken referral system that harms patients and leads to attacks on doctors. #justiceforabhaya @FAIMA_INDIA_ @AIIMSRDA

24 hours of the hunger strike have passed! Yes, 24 hours! None of the demands have been met yet, and women’s safety remains neglected! The festivities continue! Abhaya and little Umara are still waiting for justice! @FordaIndia @FAIMA_INDIA_ @DrDatta_AIIMS #justiceforabhaya

Six representatives of the Junior Doctors on indefinite hunger strike. Here is why. Demands were not met after repeated pleas to the State. Junior doctors even called off their ceasework after assurance that the demands would be met. Let’s see what the demands are :
