@diybombs yeah, being with that client was like that every day,!five minutes after trying to hit me she would hug me and say she loved me. i think dementia is the most evil disease on the planet.

this emma plot is hitting hard bc this is the reality for nurses. i’ve been told multiple times by my instructors that it’s almost inevitable that eventually we will all be swung on by a patient. they all have their own stories. my mom has stories about it.

@diybombs actually one of my instructors had a story where she was put in a headlock like emma by a confused client being discharged by the icu and she said the pt’s strength was astounding. like it’s actually wild how strong confusion can make a physically frail person

@umberleeschosen it's awful. they told me after that he wanted to apologize but wouldn't let him bc I was a minor. it must be horrible to lose control like that and not realize until later.

@diybombs yeah i’ve already experienced it a bit being a senior caretaker, i had a client w dementia who would try to bite and scratch and managed to draw blood one time. it’s so sad bc you know they’re not in control :(

@mcvarraty dr!! I work in healthcare and generally dr is used as a title, doctor is used as a noun (ie "the doctor")

Writing The Pitt fanfiction rn (guess which ship,) do I use “Dr.” or “Doctor” for dialogue when they’re addressing a specific person? I feel like I’ve seen both, but I’m not sure which one is correct or preferred 😭
