@Carlosgatti74 @ClaretJD It'll be interesting to see how much scouting we do in Spain now, you would expect far more value there for players. I think most of us have clung on to that Foster Villa performance but it says it all that we remember just the one. Vipotnik is decent for sure.

@djaidyj @ClaretJD Yeh Hanibal been good seems to have cooled down a bit too rather than reacting. Shame with foster best game I saw from him was villa away under vk. Let's see if alk have learnt from their mistakes come the new season Hopefully we go for the Swansea striker

@Carlosgatti74 @ClaretJD agree with all that (especially Foster!), I reckon Hannibal has done enough to get a move too. Very telling ALK got the Director of Football in at Espanyol first, I fear we may well become an after thought but I hope I'm wrong.

@Carlosgatti74 @ClaretJD yeah very true about the 3 managers, got to get it right when you look at the accounts, promotion or we have a problem and it's not going to be easy. Brownhill was a cheat code for us in the Championship and it looks like we are about to have another big player turnover

@djaidyj @ClaretJD Parker was a cheap option I don't believe he was rtr number 1 target though vk was always gonna jump ship for bigger and better things. It'll probably end up being somebody who hardly anybody mentions. Boro, hull, saints All new managers to this league and did well

@Carlosgatti74 @ClaretJD yeah he would 100% be the best choice for an out of work manager, can't see ALK forking out for him. It's a concern though that they seem to keep changing their mind, how do you go from Kompany ball to Parker ball ?!

@djaidyj @ClaretJD You didn't even ask what style of play was he said the football was decent just cared more about the style than results at dog dale I'd rather have an attacking manager said it on another post Eustace more defensive. My #1 is Thomas Frank Can't see it though

I understand the emotion around a huge penalty decision in a massive game. Football does that to people. But at some point emotion has to give way to evidence. When freeze frames, angles and clear contact are sitting right in front of us, denying it because it doesn’t suit your team or narrative just kills any honest debate. What’s even worse is when professionals and pundits, who know the game inside out, deliberately drive a narrative to suit an agenda rather than analyse what’s actually in front of them. That only fuels tribalism and misinformation. You can debate consistency. You can debate interpretation. But you can’t just ignore unrefutable evidence because it’s inconvenient. Football discussion is far better when honesty matters more than point scoring.

Why was it no pen Henry? Ref was advised to go to the monitor and made the call. It was still a subjective call. John Beaton with his own eyes deemed it as handball. Was he wrong? Did the ball not hit the hand of Sam Nicholson in an unnatural position…
Henry Winter@henrywinter

Celtic’s penalty was certainly a debatable decision. Impossible to be definitive either way, hence current widespread inquest, so they really should have stayed with original on-field. No pen. Understandable anger amongst Motherwell and Hearts coaches, players and supporters. Hearts now travel to Celtic Park for a title decider. The Foundation of Hearts, which owns 75% of the club, has called “on those responsible for the officiating of Saturday’s match to ensure that the highest standards of decision-making are applied, so that the game is decided by the players on the pitch and the team is given the fair opportunity it has earned”. Strong words. North and South of the Border the quality of officiating - and consistency – has been questioned this season. The problem is not the technology but those using it. There are some very competent officials about. But more are needed. Whether the Fir Park hand-ball was the worst decision ever is a moot point. Here are a few that spring immediately to mind, clear-cut mistakes, bound to trigger some frustrated flashbacks, in no particular order…. Diogo Dalot on Jeremy Doku, somehow only a yellow. Michael Keane on Doku, somehow only a yellow. Jordan Pickford taking out Virgil van Dijk. Harry Kane foot up on Andy Robertson. Tomas Soucek stopping a shot from Conor Gallagher with his hand. Rodri hand-ball against Everton. On it goes. Elliot Anderson on Ollie Watkins, cleared on review, mad. Kelechi Iheanacho denied a goal for Celtic against Braga when VAR ruled he’d handled when the ball came off his cheek. Gabriel not being dismissed for lowering his forehead into Erling Haaland. Luis Diaz punished for a non-existent offside when scoring for Liverpool against Tottenham. Lee Mason left his VAR job “by mutual consent” and PGMO apologised after he failed to draw the lines and spot Christian Norgaard offside in the build-up to Ivan Toney scoring for Brentford, costing Arsenal two points. And many others. The problem isn’t the technology; it’s the people using it, with the additional issue in Scotland of whether there is sufficient investment in the technology infrastructure. VAR is the safety net - but currently with too many holes.

@Carlosgatti74 @ClaretJD well, I would imagine you yourself have seen zero games from his time at Rochdale and very few of his Cardiff games so our only recent viewing of his style was the game earlier this season where Cardiff were miles better than us in every single aspect of the game
