@callsign_rghv @HarashiR92506 @Genshin_HU_Info Fair. but point still stands. open world gacha games are using the same formula, which is already exhausting at this point. also Zelda's combat system isn't mundane.
English

@djethrei @HarashiR92506 @Genshin_HU_Info did bro really say "genshin impact open world formula" as if its "formula" isn't just 1:1 copy of Zelda BOTW

@HarashiR92506 @Genshin_HU_Info you mean other gachas with actual maps and overworlds using the Genshin Impact open world formula with the same mundane combat system.
English

@Genshin_HU_Info Yeah.
Other gachas are busy creating actual maps and overworlds.
While you run in your little metallic arena, all year long :)
English

@Genshin_HU_Info people saying "over animation" know nothing about animation. they don't fking know that exaggeration is part of the 12 principles of animation. Even with mocap, the actors NEED to exaggerate their movements for the best output.

@takaaki_ac You can also get stuck on the couch that's right below him, happened to me once.

@ESLCS @CounterStrike I don't play cs2 but imo, they should've done it like how Ready or Not does it, you still get to keep the mag that you replaced and you can individually see the status of each mag. the only time you fully discard it is when it's empty or if you do a quick reload.
English

@KappathanArt @ZenlessWorld very plausible theory, especially with the large concerning scars on her back and how cybernetic looking the wings are.
English

@ZenlessWorld My wild guess is maybe she's an artificial thiren as part of an experiment to see if it's possible to turn a human into a thiren. I'll probably be proven completely wrong in a week.
English

@RocketBullets right now i'm coping that atleast I can still cut time running back all the way to spawn to rotate. in my head that's still several seconds cut from your rotations.

@sonicwrath @ct_yair @GachaFiles I still lowkey wished that I splurged a bit for Banyue, sad that the last f2p pulls I had left didn't end up being a lucky pull to get the boy. The more I get to try him on trials (like the snap event now) the more I regret it.
English

@ct_yair @GachaFiles It’s not going to be any different but I skipped YSG and I’ve been doing just fine

@Iyokuu Why are you guys forcing it with Anomaly?
YSG is enough for this. 2nd boss can be done with Sanby and last is YX.
English

Everyone has been sharing mixed opinions about Vesper as the new DA boss in Zenless. Today was my first time fighting her (haven't finished the story).
Originally I hated this boss and thought it was dick (the fight not the actual boss). My first run was a collection of 8-12k scores. I read the boss guide but still didn't understand how to fight her. Within the hour I spent time learning which moves I could block, parry, hard counter, flinch, etc. and increased my score by 2x.
Below I'll try to give a TLDR of my thoughts, but 2 videos will release next week going in full detail.
TLDR of what I learned from this experience?
- Anyone complaining about this boss is 101% justified. For once, it's not a "learn the game" situation. Will that help? Absolutely, but there's a bigger problem here.
- Vesper isn't an Aria-only boss. I understand why some would think that, but it's not true. She's an Abloom boss. This boss is designed around Agents that abuse Abloom, and the closest thing to that is Hypercarry AM-teams, which Anomaly is not traditionally built to do.
- The problem is the game (aka Devs) have not properly equipped the general player base to handle them dropping a boss like this out of nowhere. There are only 3 Abloom focused Agents in the game.
1 is a Sub-DPS. 1 is a Standard S-Rank. 1 is Resisted.
None of them are A-Ranks or easily accessible to most players.
- We realistically only have 7 Agents out of the entire roster that have a "positive matchup" against Vesper (pre-Aria). All 7 don't work together btw.
- Grace is nutty against this boss.

@mokeysniper I atleast want the game to not go below 60 during the most crucial part of the game which is the toe-to-toe gunfights. that's atleast the bare minimum. and this is even after the recent patch. a mid range build should be able to run this stutter free, but for some reason it cant
English

@mokeysniper really enjoying the game so far, it's just the performance is what's killing it for me, there's only 6 people and relatively small map compared to apex but it is running so much worse than apex. I don't even get that much lower frames on the final ring.
English

Highguard opinions so far.
TLDR: There is some absolute gold here.
I think people are dismissing it way too early. The Map size and 3v3 actually work well. But it needs some tweaking.
Performance is complete dogshit and the Nr.1 thing ruining the games potential rn. Bunch of missing features and Settings. It's sweaty af.
This should have launched as semi public closed beta.
Gameplay:
I fully believe the game and different phases actually flow well and most of the criticism stems from people not knowing how to play it yet, which also results in playing against enemies that don't either. 3v3 and Map size actually work really well. Once you understand the flow you can really see the vision and that they did put some real work into the Gameplay mechanics to pull of that vision.
It's really fun.
The preparation and looting phase feel slightly lackluster.
But i don't think anyone can give proper feedback yet on how to refine the different phases and don't think Wildlight should listen to any of the early feedback.
Let Players get 50-100h into the game first.
Solo que:
At least for now, while everyone gets used to the game and SBMM has not had a chance to work properly yet, it is beyond unplayable in Solo q vs Pre made squads.
Performance:
Calling it complete dogshit is very insulting language but it fits. I was dropping below 50-60FPS in hectic moments on 1080p low settings and 50% render resolution. So effectively 720p ?
I get 250-300FPS on Apex on 1440p.
Mouse Input feels crap. Can't even tell if there's input lag or it's just the horrendous performance.
I get the itch to jump back into the game, and then i try to drag my aim through soup during the raid phase and immediately realize why i previously stopped after 1 round.
Settings and features:
Made a seperate post about that.
x.com/mokeysniper/st…
Here are some other opinions that i think are pretty spot on:
x.com/aherys/status/…
x.com/boafnbr/status…
I really really hope the game can survive and come back strong af. It would deserve it. The devs would deserve it. I desperately want to play an excellent version of this game so bad.

English

@boafnbr about the blur, make sure to turn Post Processing quality all the way up, it's currently bugged right now as lowering it also lowers the internal rendering and outputs a lower resolution. so set the internal render slider all the way up to 100 and post processing to high.

FULL HIGHGUARD REVIEW AFTER PLAYING
Highguard is getting way more backlash than it deserves, and honestly a lot of it feels like cope. The game is hard. It demands mechanical skill, awareness, and good decision-making, and that alone is enough to turn a lot of people off. A lot of the negative comparisons come from players expecting another Overwatch or Marvel Rivals-style hero shooter, but Highguard clearly isn’t trying to be that. Judging it by those standards completely misses the point.
The 3v3 siege mode gets criticized a lot, but it actually works really well with the current time-to-kill. Smaller teams mean individual skill matters more, and clutching a 1v3 is genuinely possible if you play well. Sure, I think there’s room to experiment with larger formats like 5v5 or 6v6 down the line, but for this mode, 3v3 feels intentional and balanced rather than limiting.
If you enjoy fast-paced movement shooters that reward raw aim, positioning, and quick reactions, there’s a lot to like here. That said, I can’t ignore the performance issues. The game is badly optimized right now, and there’s a strange blur that constantly affects visual clarity. These feel like fixable problems, but they do hurt the experience in its current state.
Overall, most of the outrage and bad reviews don’t come from bad design — they come from players who can’t keep up and don’t want to adapt. Highguard knows what kind of game it wants to be, and for the right audience, it delivers.
