My late morning flight to a 1 day work trip turned into a 7 hour delay, that turned into an extra 2 hour delay, that turned into a canceled flight. I don't think I'm supposed to go on work trips yet. I guess I only had to be at the airport for 2 hours.

@cherian_deepak @EmMar_22 I didn't go to SciPy this year where apparently this was presented, but it isn't clear to me what this is or how/what to contribute.

Seeking CI help: Cython 3.0 was released and now pytest just hangs after finishing all the tests. Downgrading to Cython 0.29.x doesn't fix it though and this is only happening on Windows. Someone please point me to a magic github issue that's solved this problem.

A severe G4 geomagnetic storm brought #AuroraBorealis activity to lower than usual latitudes overnight resulting in rare sightings of the #NorthernLights from several U.S. states. Here are two views of the glorious event as seen from space by the @JPSSProgram satellite fleet.

@simon_sat You could reply "part of being a parent is teaching your kids how to express themselves in a healthy and socially acceptable way" or...I guess you could hit her?

Alright, who told my other projects that I was planning to be productive on one single project this week? One "no route to host" and a "these files don't load any more" so far.

I've been avoiding properly categorizing my credit card purchases in my bank's app because I know it is just going to show I spend 50% of my money at coffee shops.

@raymondh My team wrote a custom library for memory mapping binary data files until we found out numpy had a .memmap function that made most of our code unnecessary.

Have any of you ever put #Python's mmap() module to good use? It seems awesome and toy examples are easy to code, but I've never had occasion to apply it to real world problems. I'm wonder whether I've missed an obvious but common use case.

What are some good examples of situations where you would mask a numpy array with a mask created from a different numpy array (like b[a>0])?

Apparently it was doing "<hostname>:80". If I remove the port number then it works. If I use a different endpoint that uses "<hostname>:8080" that also works. So either GDAL or Ceph doesn't like ":80".

Does anyone here have experience using GDAL/rasterio to talk to Ceph-based S3 (RGW) buckets? I can't get rid of a SignatureDoesNotMatch error even though I think I'm doing everything correctly.
