@nytimestech @stephengandel Yikes... the lead sentence of this article mentions fighter jets in World War 2?? Over 99% of the fighter planes (and 100% of the bombers) taking part in WW2 were piston-engine, propeller driven aircraft!

Stennis Space Center joins others in NASA in memorializing late astronaut Al Worden today @NASA_Johnson . Worden (right) visited Stennis with fellow astronauts Scott Carpenter and Gordon Cooper in August 2004 to promote the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation.
