Andi Lynn Blair was a 3-year-old girl from Flat Rock, North Carolina, who died in a tragic hit-and-run crash on August 21, 2021, just days before her fourth birthday.
She was riding her tricycle in the cul-de-sac outside her home on Pleasant Court when an SUV backed out of a neighboring driveway and struck her.
First responders arrived quickly, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, identified as Aaron Santiso then 30–32 years old and originally from Mexico, fled the scene. He was stopped shortly afterward near the South Carolina border.
His blood alcohol level was 0.10 (above the legal limit of 0.08), and he showed signs of impairment.
He faced charges including:
• Felony hit-and-run causing death
• Felony death by vehicle
• Driving while impaired (DWI)
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced in May 2023 to prison time (reports mention at least eight years, with some accounts citing 100–141 months).
He was in the U.S. illegally, and ICE placed a detainer on him for deportation after serving his sentence.
