New Music Friday with @KatrinaMusic @EthanCappsMusic 3.20.26 “All Over Me”

As a former Houston Oilers season ticket holder in the 90s, I moved on when they left for Tennessee. They can keep everything that has to do with that cursed franchise including their colors. Tear down the Astrodome too while we’re at it. It’s an eyesore now.

My 90s Era

Hearing the news about Producer/DJ Michael D Adachi aka @djmiked passing last night gave me some time to reflect. His production and remixes always a staple for Top 40 Radio and mixshows. You couldn't go to an open format club, bar, or turn on a radio without hearing at least one Mike D remix programmed in a set from the 2000s and 2010s. One of the most humble, kind, genuine, and good people in this industry. One story I remember was when we talked about his Gotye "Somebody That I Used To Know" Remix. That was the version many radio stations played over the original. It even went to #1 on the Billboard Radio Dance Radio/Mixshow Chart and Club Play Chart. The artist hated it but that version helped it get to #1 on the Mainstream Pop Chart. Even though he was never really credited for the success by the artist or many of our music peers, people around him knew without that remix, it wasn't going to #1. He was very humble about it but hid it with his qwerky humor. I'll miss our talks but your music will live forever. God bless his soul and family.

Hearing the news of Stereo Live closing brings up some special memories. One of those special moments was opening up for Avicii for the House for Hunger tour. It was my first of several guest spots at Stereo Live. Much respect to Surain and Mike Long. They had a good run.
