@HORSE_GOD @peet2 Fair. It really annoys me that it’s so far away. I’d have season tickets if they were in the city. I can’t get my kids to games that start exclusively after 7:30 and require a 40
Minute car ride to and from. And so I feel like I’ll never have a real connection to the “local” team

@peet2 @dkltzd Fair Park is fine. But the cotton bowl needed to be rebuilt in the spirit of ATLs stadium where you can have a lower soccer bowl and a larger bowl on top of that for the red river football games. Or they should have built a new SS stadium east deep ellum/art district years ago.

A big surprise to me was recently learning the 2nd floor of the new east building will be… nothing. No suites, party deck, no SRO or ticketed anything. Just an empty, unfinished space covered w/ ad boards. 🤷♂️

For those unfamiliar. The population in a 20-mile radius around Toyota Stadium is 2.8million. Only 11 other US MLS stadiums have larger populations in its 20-mile radius. The Cotton Bowl, next door to downtown? 3.2M.

Certainly appears that the city is willing to do away with the current city hall and IMO the size of the site would work better for a soccer than cramming in NBA.
